The Melvins were referred to as the godfathers of grunge without having ever played the damn genre, though they played everything from sludge to stoner, doom, drone doom, psychedelic rock, punk, so on and so forth. That's what Boris do. Are they carbon copies of the Melvins? Of course not, but in name-sake they're theoretically the same band. I'd just sleep with Wata sooner than I would Buzzo (I think, close race). I don't want to sound like I hate Boris, I've been on board with them since "dronevil" came out in the states. Just pointing out the fact that they pretty much are the Japanese version of the Melvins.
